Today is the 7th year anniversary of my relationship with Tobie. While you could say that numbers are meaningless like how the post ID 02307 in hexadecimal is 8967 in decimal. But I'd beg to differ.
This is not the first time I've "gotten this far" in terms of a relationship as my last one ended before we reached our eighth year, but the way I feel now is worlds away from how I felt then and I'm all the better for it. Having Tobie in my life has opened up new doors for me in a variety of ways and I'm forever grateful for that. But more than the support for any creative endeavors or changes in my career, Tobie has helped me most of all to be a truer version of me that is more honest, more open and a heck of a lot happier.
Sure 7 years can seem like an achievement, especially given all the stereotyping and disinformation that's attached to the LGBT community. But perhaps it's better to look at it as another beginning, in this case the beginning of the next chapter of our lives. The beginning of another 7 years together. The beginning of another journey towards forever.
We've come such a long way and we have a long, long, long way to go and I can't imagine having anyone else by my side.

Okay that was way more than intended. But then again, you can only capture so much of 7 years in photos - and there were just some of the highlights!
