02222: A Need to Move

It's sad that one of the "easier" solutions to needing to deal with Metro Manila traffic involves simply moving closer to your place of work. It feels a lot like giving up since the traffic isn't going to go away and so you end up being the one trying to figure out a way to minimize the need to navigate the streets of the metropolis.

I honestly like Cubao near Araneta Center. It's a largely commercial area that can still feel quite residential when you stay away from the malls. But ever since I started working at BGC in the day, we've had fewer opportunities to make the most of Cubao as most of our work week is spent either in Makati or in BGC. Thus it seems smarter to move to this area and abandon the whole QC dream.

This also means that we'll have to cope with the higher cost of living in the area. I don't know how I feel about exploring the farther side of Taguig beyond C5 since that may still trigger more traffic woes, especially since Tobie would still need to get to Makati. We'll have to look at the numbers as a whole, but it goes without saying that adjustments will need to be made in terms of our day to day. But then again, being closer to home should cut down commute time and give us more time to be domestic in terms of cooking and all that good stuff. Heck, maybe I'll be able to do laundry again.

A rent-to-own option would be totally awesome but I'm not holding my breath for that. For now I'd be happy just to find a decent place that's close enough to needed amenities but still feels safe. Oh, and should potentially be okay with pets since we will have a dog again in the future.

Any leads? LOL
