So I've been quite the Googlephile since like forever and one of main reasons I started a Blogger blog was to have a reason to setup Google Analytics. Back in the day I was super curious about the capabilities of Google's free analytics product and so the Geeky Guide became my first experiment with the tool. And while it was generally cool to get all that data and such, I didn't really have a true application for all that.
Fast-forward 10 years and here we are with me totally geeking out over Google Analytics again. But this time it's for work, so the insights and the trends that I'm identifying do serve a particular purpose, so that definitely helps. But I know I'm barely scratching the tip of the iceberg here. The real fun comes once we start adjusting strategy based on what we see and then checking again to see if things have changed in the way we want to.
Such is the joy of data-driven decision-making. It's a good time to be a geek.
