0217C: Prepare the Transit Beam

To cap off a pretty good work day, we watched a recording of a live performance of The Rocky Horror Show. Take note folks - The Rocky Horror Show is the stage production while The Rocky Horror Picture Show is the movie. The show was as fun as could be expected given a crazy cast, amazing celebrity narrator cameos and of course a good audience. After all, this is more than just a story but a full entertainment experience.

I didn't look closely enough at the original story to realize that this was all the brainchild of Richard O'Brien, someone I remember most for his role as the host of The Crystal Maze. It kinda blows the mind that he penned the original stage musical and portrayed the role of Riff Raff, the handyman. I totally did not know about this side of his career. Mind officially blown.

And now we're watching the queer documentary Paris is Burning, which isn't too big of a jump after watching the story of a sweet transvestite from Transylvania. And for anyone who loves RuPaul's Drag Race, this documentary is absolutely fascinating. I now fully appreciate why so many say that it's a must-see and why the likes of RuPaul make reference to it so often.

Oh, and I need to go back to Singapore next month for work. Work is good. And I'm trying to take my Google-fu to new heights by exploring other products.
