If I had one wish for the holidays, whether for Christmas or even the coming New Year, it would be for Yoshi to be better. His health situation remains rather complicated and there's a lot of maintenance that's going into getting all his levels stable. He needs saline injected into his skin plus a synthetic hormone every 2-3 days plus a lot of different tables and supplements administered orally on a daily basis. It's a lot of work and of course stress on Yoshi, too.
One can't help but wonder if it's all worth the effort or if we should consider giving Yoshi more of a break or something and just try to make him happy and comfortable. The doctors assure us his condition isn't quite that serious yet, but it's inevitable for our minds to wander in that direction.
We love Yoshi so much and of course we want to keep him in our lives as long as possible. But we also need to factor in his needs and comfort as well. I keep reminding myself that it's not that bad yet, but it's certainly serious enough for us to cover all the bases. We need to do what's best for Yoshi.
