02179: Our Stars Wars Day

So we actually woke up at 06:00am on a Saturday to watch Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Given bad weather and Manila's already bad traffic situation, we did not want to risk possibly missing our IMAX movie reservation for silly reasons like that. We even camped out at the BGC office in order be closer to SM Mall of Asia versus having gone home to Cubao.

No spoilers of course, but the movie was a lot of fun. It wasn't exactly life-changing, but then J.J. Abrams applied his usual effort to create a special movie experience that would welcome newcomers yet still reward longtime fans. So there were new things and new things that felt familiar and old things that were very, very familiar and it's all good stuff.

Then we got a little Christmas shopping done and we almost have everything covered. Still need to make sure we finish our lists and that we also get everything wrapped before the holidays are truly upon us.

Then it was brunch at Hokkaido Ramen Santouka - it was our first time to try it out and it was a fun experience. I managed to get the last bowl of their Santouka Chicken Ramen given they claim that only 20 bowls are available per day. It was yummy and quite elegant as far as a ramen dish can go, and I enjoyed it.

Tobie had the Hiyashi Chukua, which was a cold noodle plate that was designed to be mixed and matched to come up with interesting flavor combinations. And while it's not something we'd order every single time, I knew Tobie would get a kick out of the whole experience of mixing and matching stuff - and he did!

Now resting a bit at BGC again before we head back to Cubao with Yoshi in tow this time. Still need to get ready for a game night later with a dear friend - I just hope the rain doesn't wet the games!
