Let's face it - you can't be a Transformers collector without getting at least one repaint in your life. Even core G1 characters like Bumblebee and Cliffjumper merely started out as repaints of one another. So in a way, repaints are part of the grand legacy of the franchise. Repaints ought to be celebrated.
When I first heard the news of the Combiner Hunters repaints for Windblade, Chromia, and Arcee, I was a little on the fence about getting them. I guess I was just trying to be smart about my purchases and not fall into quickly getting any convention premium item. But let's face it, "fembots" were rarer than combiners in terms of Transformers history and the fact that this allowed us to get new versions of these girls seemed pretty cool.
Plus they came with anime-level giant weapons, which makes things even crazier.
So yeah, no regrets so far. I can't wait to open the box and really spent some time with my new girls.
