01854: Weekend Recovery Time

It has been a rather colorful week and I'm sure that it's safe to say that all of us have been looking forward to the weekend. And as much as there's still a new storm system, tagged as Typhoon Henry, that is moving through our general area, the weekend is still cause to celebrate. Whether or not you still have power for more than 12 hours at a time while Meralco works on restoring the rest of the grid, spending time with your loved ones is always valuable.

This weekend we still have a game night scheduled with a group of friends. Apart from the usual board games, I'm planning on running the Doctor Who: Adventures of Time and Space game once more and see how they enjoy it. For most of them, it'll be the first time that they'll play an RPG and so that always adds a little burden or "responsibility" to things, as it were. Thanks to Tobie, I take the running of RPGs rather seriously and I do sincerely want it to be a great experience for the players. As much as they're free to define the game experience for themselves, it's still the responsibility of the Storyteller or Game Master to create the environment for everyone to play in.

Tomorrow actually won't be a gaming day - we're actually meeting up with another couple in a sort of double date. I can't remember the last time that we've done something like this - most of our social interactions tend to be game nights after all. But hey, there are a diversity of ways that people enjoy their free time. What really matters is that you do what works best for you and yours.

Enjoy your weekend, folks! Have fun. Stay safe. And smile more.
