I'm officially 31 years old today.
31 is a weird number for me. It's a prime number that I sort of instinctively don't like (like 19), but for the life of me I can't explain why. It's like how I'm not enamored by even numbers (so common), but I still like the number 8 (2 cubed just sounds nice to me or something?). I like 3 (best prime ever!) but not overly excited about 11.
But it's not like I put any stock into numbers and what effect they supposedly may have on our lives, or any other such portents. If anything I've been pretty clear on the fact that my life is my own and I control my path as much as possible. At the same time, when things don't go well, I know it's entirely my responsibility as well.
But hey, we put a bit more importance in birthdays since it marks another successful orbit around the sun - and that's still something to be proud of. It's a nice time to take stock of what has come before and make plans for what may lie ahead.
