Last night we wrapped up our long-running Houses of the Blooded game. On a personal note, my cowardice led to the death of Judi Dench's character, as strange as that may sound. You see in these games we tend to use celebrities as pegs for what different characters look like and of course Judi Dench is a popular template for many of our games. And I got her killed - or at least as hurt as one can possibly hurt an immortal creature like the Ven. Drat.
And now we're together with our Sunday gaming group for a completely different game - this one being Dungeon World. And while I've been playing these tabletop RPGs for a few years now, I've never played Dungeons & Dragons, which is essentially what this game is based on. So this is now my closest experience to the D&D experience - but in a more narrative form, which is my preferred style of gaming.
I'm a dwarven cleric. He's a lawful character in terms of orientation. Yes, I'm totally using Durkon from Order of the Stick as a character peg.
The weather has shifted considerably and it's been raining cats and dogs practically all afternoon. I'm not sure how I feel about the weather given that my nose is being all weird right now. It feels like I'm having some sort of an allergic reaction to...something. It may be the weather or just the earthy stuff that gets stirred up because of the rain. Or whatever. Bottom line - it's annoying.
Ah well, back to the game.
