01566: The Gaming Circuit Can Be More Fun Than The Queer Circuit

A lot of Metro Manila queers appear to have flown over to Thailand for something known as Songkran 2013. And based on my Google search just now as I compose this entry, I now know that Songkran is pretty much the Thai new year. For one reason or another it seems to have become a major stop on the queer party circuit, not that I'll ever understand the global circuit scene. So sue me. At least I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything since I've find a reason why I'd want to go to an event like this.

So it looks like Saturday night will be an RPG night so my previously stated hankerings for game board time will have to wait. No rush though - we'll find the time (and the players) for a board game night soon enough. In the meantime, I need to get ready for a modern vampire adventure. Exciting!

And then there's still the regular Sunday game to also look forward to. It appears that we'll be running two game sessions for the day (time permitting). One being Esteren - a system I'm still not 100% comfortable with. The other will be Tobie's on-going modern World of Darkness game. And that one's a little trickier to describe accurately.

No, this isn't the actual toy.
So it looks like I'll be able to get my secondhand G1 Scorponok this weekend (time permitting) from GreatToysOnline. I had placed a deposit on the toy some time ago but had waited this long since we were waiting for the box set of Shattered Glass Soundwave vs Blaster to arrive in the store as well. But since that box set did not materialize, it looks like I'm back to just getting getting Scorponok, which isn't a bad thing at all. Should the Shattered Glass figures still materialize, well, I guess I'll just have to figure out how to finance that sufficiently.

Oh the weekend most certainly awaits. Just one more work shift to get through and then the geeky fun begins!
