01460: Another Stay-Home Weekend

So this is the big pre-Halloween weekend, which is essentially when everyone is going to celebrate the event. And after much back and forth, I'm mostly definitely decided on staying home (and so is Tobie). And yes, I have not forgotten the fact that the queer scene will be celebrating with the annual Black Party.

To be fair, the Black Party has never been something I've consistently made time out for over the years. I always make sure to go to the White Party since it has become the big tradition of when we truly celebrate LGBT pride. For the past three years I've consistently participated in the Pride March and I'm sure to do so again this year. But the Black Party, well I don't know. It just hasn't.

This is not to say that I do not enjoy dressing up for Halloween. Admittedly it's not something that I've always been able to do over the years but it certainly is a fun activity. I always have such a difficult time trying to think up a costume concept and I really lack the necessary skills for effective costume design. I know I'll get better in time, but for now I'm just not there yet. But we'll see.

This longer weekend has been focused on recharging and relaxing. Well, that and acquiring new Transformers via Sulit.com. I didn't even attend the big re-opening of O Bar Ortigas last night - I guess I'm just not quite ready for returning to the scene just yet. And I don't have a clear peg for when that will be.

But The weekend has been great thus far - I'm perfectly happy just staying home after all. I've been reading a  lot of comics and have been steadily working through the various secrets of LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars. And I'm definitely looking forward to unboxing more Transformers before my Monday work shift rolls along.

But tonight won'tn be totally "boring" - we're hosting a Houses of the Blooded game tonight! Yay for gaming!

  1. I have to admit that I've never been to a Black Party, and I believe I've only been to the White Party twice.

Does that make me a bad gay? :(

    1. Different strokes for different folks. No one is "required" to do anything after all. But at the very least I think you should consider going to the Pride March sometime - that's a LOT more important than any color-themed party.
