It's raining cats and dogs today here in Quezon City, which is pretty strange given how hot it had been just the other day. I'm not quite sure how long the current rainy weather is going to last or whether this may herald the start of a very early rainy season. If anything, at least it's a lot cooler now than it used to be, even if it means having to deal with the discomfort that such excessive rains bring.
I have one more work shift to worry about and then I'll be home free for the week. But that will just mean that I need to meet a few deliverables for our budding travel agency business, A.S.A. Travel and Tours. I'm trying to get a temporary website set up so that we can start strengthening our web presence more via Blogger and that will take a bit more work over the weekend. Plus I need to finalize our presentation deck, which means making some more creative decisions related to company colors, template fonts and all that good stuff. In other words, I've essentially adapted a lot of my duties at the office back here at home for our own family business.
And don't get me wrong, I'm definitely not complaining. It's more like a lot of my career decisions are now making a lot more sense in relation to A.S.A Travel. Funny how life works out that way.
Prince and I had a little "mini-date" today, given we only had one major errand to attend to. The original goal was to determine if travel agencies in the area could help us book tickets for Prince's business trip to Boracay this month given their online ordering system appears to be done. But as sort of expected, the agencies are also unable to make reservations given they seem to rely on the same web portal for orders. Boo. So either we wait for the website to come back or we just order via the telephone hotline and pay cash upon delivery.
Then it was lunch at Rai Rai Ken since we almost always seem to go for Japanese when we're out together. Surprisingly they still had a 50% your second bento deal so we got to save a little money while still enjoying a good meal and good conversation.
Then we went around Ali Mall and SM a bit as we looked at sandals, water-enhanced air coolers and other good stuff. I also tried to make more serious inquiries about the ASUS EEE Pad Transformer Prime TF201, since it seemed to be the better deal as based on Villman's website. However the darn thing has a 30-45 day waiting time with them given their relatively low price, so it doesn't seem like an overly viable option at this point. We also tried asking at a few other stores like Gilmore, but they quoted a P40k credit card price given their much shorter 3-day waiting period. Gah, I want that tablet!
Our options for now are either to go for the most expensive option with the shorter waiting period, try to canvass at Greenhills or SM Megamall for alternative sources or settle for the slightly lower end ASUS EEE Pad Transformer TF101 which has a plastic body, a slightly weaker processor and a few other differences. The most idea unit would probably be the ASUS Transformer Pad TF300, bu that was only released in the US last week so it's not going to make an appearance in the Philippines any time soon.
Whatever the outcome, we're going to have one of the ASUS Transformer Pads before May 21. It's just a question of how long I'm going to hold out for the Transformer Prime before I just work with the TF101 model. Decisions, decisions!
